we covered his crate extensively years ago on Sturmgruppen 1944 web-site no longer on the net, please visit via google: Falkeeins blog and check on the right side links for Walter Dahl.
 
remember the B-17 within the gunsight motif is only worn on the left side of the engine cowling, the 13 is outlined in white
 
Hello Erich,

I hesitate regarding the gunsight motif and the white outlined for my project... On the picture (in german language) from the summer 1944, it says there isn't no white outlined and there isn't any reference regarding the gunsight motif...

There are well known photos or illustrations regarding another Dahl aircraft flown late in 1944 with the gunsight and blue 13 with white outlined

I think you better get a copy of J-Y. Lorants JG 300 volumes

the blue 13 had a white outline as shown in your foto, I said earlier that Dahl flew a couple different A-8's.
