Thanks very much for the good wishes guys! It is a stupid disease, as today I don't feel as bad, and can move around better! So, where's that modelling stuff?!!

I'm with you on the 'disease' cr@p, Terry. Maybe there should be a category for 'Gimpy, handicapped, old modellors". I would welcome you there!

Hope you feel better, soon!

Thanks again guys, it's much appreciated!
I managed to get a bit done on the base, after friggin' around with stupid acrylic paint! My airbrush doesn't seem to like it, it clogs the nozzle after only a few seconds. So, after clean-up, I changed to enamel, and was able to spray a light 'dusting of snow', and do the 'frozen, melted streaks' of 'snow' (if you know what I mean!). The idea is to represent that sort of grey/white frosty appearnce on frozen, muddy grass, with strips of snow that had melted, then frozen again. I've done a couple of pics, but they don't really show the effect, as the paint hasn't settled yet. Once I get the right look, with the 'transparent' greyish edges to the lumps of snow, and the ice-covered puddles, I'll post the series of pics, to show how the effect was built-up.
By itself, the base looks, well, plain! But once the Dora is parked on it, it should do the job, and compliment the model. I hope to get some pics up later tomorrow night (Monday).
Thanks again for your good wishes.

If you mean will it be belly-landed Jan, then no. I'm displaying it the day before Bodenplatte, when it arrived at JG26's airfield at Plantleunne, so it'll be on its 'legs', and looking 'normal'.

That's why it's belly landed! It was good, if not great, in 1970, but the moulds have suffered since! It retails at about £34 in the UK now(!!), but I got it for £7 a couple of years back - then I saw the poor undercart etc , and decided on its fate!

No, it's one from the kit markings options. Haupt. Mayerweissflog. Wojtek very kindly found me a pic of the belly-landed bird, which I'd already built. Lo and behold, I wasn't far out, and only need to modify some of the 'damage' slightly, then plonk it on a base. Might get that done soon, ready for the next part of the Diorama Guide, which is coming along, a little slowly, due to all the other things I seem to have gotten involved in with this excellent forum!

Yep, should look OK I think Wayne. There'll be some more Dora pics soon, just been getting on with the base, and a few other things. One slight delay, waiting for extra shelving in the spare room, as I've run out of room for some of my models! Never thought of that when I started on the last couple, and I don't want them shoved in a corner in a vulnerable place!
