That's looking absolutely brilliant Dan! It's a bit difficult to see the full effects of the gloss in the pics, but I understand what you mean.
The 'normal' finish for Luftwaffe aircraft wasn't a dead-matt finish, but a semi-matt, with a slight sheen. Whether the quality of the paints and the finish was as good at this stage of the war is probably debatable, but, if you give it a light coat of semi-matt, I think it will do the job. It'll tone things down just a touch, give a good, smooth finish, and won't hide the hard work you've done in achieving the excellent results shown.
I don't know which way, or what you use, to get your matt clear coat, but I use Future, and add some Tamiya Flat Base, by trial and error, until I achieve what I require. You should be able to get a good semi-matt finish this way, and you'll be able to test it by brushing onto any scrap piece of plastic, to see how it dries. It'll only take a few minutes to do so but, a word of warning! Don't use too much of the flat base, otherwise it'll leave a white deposit when dry. However, when aiming for semi-matt, this shouldn't happen, and more Future can be added, if required, to rectify the problem.
Looking forward to seeing the 'bits and pieces' being added. Great job mate!

Thanks for the comment guys, Im real happy so far with how she looks... Ive far surpassed what I thought I was capable of doing....

So how does the finish as it stands right now look compared to how it should look??? Alittle touch of gloss to sheen it up, or some more flat to bring it down some???

It's true in all pics the Red13 looks a little bit shiny.Perhaps a some kind of light polishing could help.

I'd say that, once you two have stopped bickering about ground crews and cleaning, just tone down the gloss ever so slightly. But, try not to hit the flaked areas on the rear of the canopy. If possible, remove the canopy when you do the final coat, and if the wing-root gets dulled, that's OK.
BTW, I think the paint scuffing and flaking looks fantastic, very realistic.
Right, you can get back to insulting each other now!

The canopy is not yet installed so we're good there Terry.... I added some slight exhaust work on the port side and added a few more red dots on the latch handles... Also got the silver pencil out for some finalization of the scratches and chips.... I think Im gonna put the silver down now, as it looks tits and dont want to get carried away... Also got the gunsight finished witht he glass plates glued on, as well as the dashboard painted RLM66... Tomorrow the front canopy glass and gunsight go on...

OK, so Terry says dull it ever so lightly, Wojtek says alittle more sheen, and GrauGeist says its on the money...

Wheres Wayne to break the tie???

OK fellas, heres a real good one for u....

On the stbd side, on the balkenkruz, there seems to be a stencil on it... The profile dont show it, but the pic dont lie... The model Im using as a refrence shows a red dot there.....

Help on deciding to add the decal that came with it....
