Dude, ur siggy rocks.... But u need another 3 profile to make it 13 tho....

U know as well as I do Jan that I am a rook when it comes to this hobby.... How can I not be with only 2 models EVER done with an airbrush, never doin ANY Photoetch in my life till this kit, and not knowing what the hell Im doin most of the time.......

And of all models to break my sprayin camo cherry on, I went with a JV44 kite that is one of the harder models to build.... I must be outta my mind to attempt this thing, but I think I did a pretty decent job....

"Pretty decent"? I think that you did one h*lluva great job brother! If mine is half as good when I'm finished, I'll be chuffed to bits!
As for breaking the "airbrush cherry" on a JV44 kite....tell me about it! Have asked myself why I didn't pick a late pacific crate in all dark blue...one colour, you can't lose!

I'm with Jan. It aint 'pretty decent', it's pretty bl**dy amazing!
As you say, you picked a right sod of subject to experiment on; a bit like learning to drive in a F1 car!
But, just think how much you've learned, some of it the hard way, which is good experience. Just think, when you come to do the Corsair, it'll not only seem a lot easier, it'll look fantastic!
I've learned some things due to this GB, and it's down to all the great guys here. I know one thing, I think I'll be getting a slightly more sophisticated airbrush, if the deals I've seen are as good as they seem, otherwise, I won't be able to keep up with you all!

Thanks Wayne...

Heres some shots, getting closer still.... Any advice/pointers at this stage????

Only two things to add. First, should the undercart not be raked forward a little more, if it's possible? Second, get it insured, 'cause that's museum quality mate!
Bl**dy marvellous!!

Thanks a bunch Terry, dont know about museum quality tho....

As far as the gear rake goes, I dont think so Terry, they are in according to how the square peg at the end of the gear locks into the fuselage....

But I could fix if necessary, just break em off and glue em at the correct angle.... Next round of pics Ill take some different angles and we'll go from there....

I threw a light gloss over her and the sheen came up some more.... Took pics outside, although the sun was already down... Next time, the pics will have bright sunshine to judge the coating again...

Sounds good Dan. Yep, it might be the angle of the pic. The gear legs should be raked forward about 18 degrees from the vertical, but, if they're in the slots the right way, I presume Hasegawa would have got it right! So don't go snapping them off yet, whatever you do!

Looks Very Very Good Dan and I would go as far to mention she would be worthy of display out at Joe's with no problem.Cheers Kevin
