Can I redrill the holes a little farther down

What for do you want to re-drill these holes? These drilled earlier can be at the moment.Check the fitting of these firstly

Hold up, I'll show the effect with the holes I drilled now.

OK. I see that. That's way I have said these holes had to be drilled farther down.But now try to push the flap closer to the wing edge and set it more open .You know P-40 flsps were opening like the crocodile jaws down.

A little open or quite a big opening for the flaps?

It's up to you how much you want to have them opened. But I think you can open them a little bit more than in the pic above.

I got it mate! I had an Ah ha moment! I took wires out. Cut any dry glue off and redid them let me take pics.

Looking good. But open it much more.Try to show the inner surface of the flap.

When I moved the flap one of the wires broke and is stuck in the drill hole.

Dammit.

So take the flap off, re-glue the wire.

 

[B-17engineer]

No like some of the wire is stuck in the drilled hole I can't get it out.

So you have to remove the wire fully.Clean the drilled hole.And re-do it again
