well dang it the wind has shifted and we are in the smoke down to the ground. oak flat fire not quite 34K. wind : strong from the NW to us. interesting as the forecast is for 5 straight days of over 105F may not get there due to smoke as this has happened over the years.

Yep, heavy T-Storm activity yesterday created quite a few hot spots, especially in Trinity and the Siskyious.

We are expecting more storms today - it would be nice if the lightning stayed cloud-to-cloud or the storms decided to bless us with hail and/or rain, for a change.

You used up your allotment last winter.

gag 4 fires in north Cali over the border, been suckin it yesterday ah but today different story this morn gray a few sprinkles, humid but no eating the smoke just yet.

It is for those in the north but our fire season is totally different to the southern fire season.

Our fire season ends when the rains come, around Xmas usually, yours is normally only a few weeks old at that time.

Skies have been beautifully clear here since a couple of days after Labour Day when the Air Quality Health Index exceeded 10 on a scale of 10 (10 being really bad). Calgary set a new record for smoke this summer with over 499 hours, and still counting, which is still less than where Geo lives.

I lived in Calgary back in the dim dark ages (late 60's) when the local paper included a certificate that read something like I lived in Calgary when the temperature never got above 0F for forty days straight.

Those were definitely the good old days
