Im still tossing this one in my head as well. Being a bit parochial (an Aussie), i dont think there are a lot of instances of personalized nose art in the Australian forces. I havent really researched it I admit, but its not a subject I can get really enthused about either. if I find some good subject material, i might change.
In the meantime, I was just thinking f doing two things in that three months....or four months. I have a half finished version of USS CONSTELLATION on the workbech (which, ironically has aircraft on its fligt deck that I have painstakingly applied 1/850 scale tail and nose art to some...mostly the F-14s), which I will post in the "your completed kits section.
I also have a Gannet, a Westland Scout/Wasp, a 1/72 A-4, and a 1/750 scale version of HMAS SYDNEY to complete (complete with deck aircraft to paint). Next to the CONSTELLATION, the SYDNEY looks minscule. It was a birthday present to me from my eldest son, and Im really looking forward to building it, though the details scare the devil out of me. Might not get to the SYDNEY in this period, but something to look forward to.
Ive been looking at a 1/72 Britol Sycamore by CMR....a resin kit of an unusual aircraft that might fit the helo build, whenever the hell that might be. Pricey...but a very high quality kit, that has received excellent reviews. i am really impressed with the CMR stuff at the moment....they generally do some really nice kits...but they do tend to be on the high side price wise.
Just wanted to let it nbe known that whilst i probably wont be in this build, I will be interested to see the results, and will still be "around".
