I'd have to go out to the desert to get any good planetary shots. Not worth the gas. Plus the telescope. 8)

Heck, just head up 18 a ways, you don't have to go far, perhaps Running Springs?

That should get you above most of the lights and pollution.

I took that moon shot from my garden which is the middle of the town, need to go further out for better shots, but I don't have a tripod, so try to avoid too long exposures.

#6: Cambus O May Bridge (I don't like the concrete in the foreground but the picture needs the bridge above it for balance)
#7: Clach na Ben - Hill nearby my House
#8: Clach na Ben - Another wider View (not a great fan of the light in this one)

I've read quite a bit about Herculaneum, and it's state of remarkable preservation compared to Pompeii.
