For some reason I was expecting the hills around where you worked to be higher George, and that is a big pond you have made. Would that still be ice on the water or some form of slurry!

The elevation on the dam I took both pics is 1057m/3467ft and the hills in the back ground are 1142m/3746ft. In the pond, the background is tailings from the plant; what ever isn't ore is sent to the dam and excess water is reused. As the tailings expand, it forces the water over to the reclaim barge and is pumped back to the plant

Interesting job!! Looked mine operation up on net and read some of the performance data. Solid operation; CU AND gold. I guess you don't get to keep that random bit of gold that sticks in the tire treads though?? You really are in the nether lands, unless it is a really long bus trip to work!!

Ralph Haus Some people do bus in every day, 1 1/2 hour ride each way. Not this cowboy. No free standing gold here. Rock has to be pulverized and then shipped out. They wanted a green mine on startup and to remove gold from rock requires cyanide; let the Chinese do it

Kept forgetting I took this on the night of the solar storm, May 11. Taken with my phone so not the best. What looks like lights on the poles is reflective tape lit up by my roof blinkie light. I was up against the high wall facing East so I only saw greens. Those on the dam looking West had all sorts of colours

I was in a paper mill for 22yrs until everything hit the fan in '08. We ran Voith

I worked for 20 years then got the heave ho in 2001, a couple days after 9-11. Nice way to say see ya later! Oh well, such is life! I remember them all, Voith, Valmet, Beloit, Black Clawson, Clark Aiken, Lenox Machine, Jagenberg. All now "ghosts of the past".

Lots of goings on in my little burg. Fibre optic internet is getting installed and lots of road work. Not sure whats going on here, too wide for as side walk

Looks like they are burying it under the road. Ours was run along the sidewalk by directional drilling.
