Okay I feel MUCH better now. Just read a thread on another forum where a guy was advertising some kits he was selling off - it was approximately 250 kits out of his stash. He estimated that he had "somewhere between 4000 and 5000" kits.

You KNOW it has to be out of control when he doesn't even know exactly HOW MANY kits he has.
 
Jeez! And I'm concerned at having around thirty! Everyone one of them is earmarked for a specific project (some waiting a lot longer than others!), but when they'll get done is becoming more of a problem. At the average annual build rate, given that no more kits are added to my stash (yeah, right...!), I should be able to complete all the kits within about two and a half to three years...I think!! Given that I might be able to continue modelling for another ten or so years, before age and the disability take control, then I would only ever have room for around 150 kits as a total stash, and even that's a bit silly!
 
Don't have anywhere near 4-5000 kits but have a lot and am not game to count them!
If the Missus new just how many, she might cut my b@lls off...
She is already pissed at how many spaces I am taking up in the house...

4000+ kits would basically take up an entire small room. My wife wouldn't stop with just my b@lls if I tried buying THAT many.
 
In the last three or four months I have accumulated at least one example of nearly every 1/72 Fleet Air Arm kit on the market plus a bunch of decal shets. It's about 40 kits I think, which is quite enough. I am looking at it as maybe a three-four year project to complete. 4000 kits is just ridiculous, let's say you had a fair amount of spare time and did them to a reasonable standard, turning out one a month is... 333 years' work!

I agree. Heck one a week is ~80 years of work! I just can't see EVER buying THAT many kits. It's beyond ludicrous.
 
You might want to make a list of the kits you want to get rid of and post it in the "I'll Trade U 4 that" thread.

Nice set of Italian bombers there.

I agree with Dwight there. The pics are a bit over exposed by back-light, so hard to make out all of the kits. Nice stash mate. What scale is that Mitchell on the top of the 'get rid' pile?
 
The pics were taken in my west facing back garden about an hour and a half before sundown, it was worse trying to get the bottom 3 pics done as they were done after the first lot and i held my hand up in the way of the sun to take them.
That B-25 Mitchell is the ancient Aurora 48 scale model with loads of rivets, raised markings and insignia and somewhat started as in some interior paint has been applied to what is meant to be cockpit and wheelwells but no construction has been done. I've checked the kit and it's complete though somewhat basic, Rochie had my 48 scale Revell one which beats it handsdown.
