Cheers Terry. I got an email from a small tools supplier I use here in Melbourne advertising the ArttyStation solutions for modelling. It was a discounted price so I grabbed one, plonked it onto a wheeled cabinet from the local hardware store and there you have it. Helps keep the home-front quiet...

You do have to be single to have a magnificent bench like Donis'!

And I am Not single............ which explains the look of mine in our new digs.

Plenty of room for display of 48th scale and stuff in the Ikea Billy cases, center case is the big ones, and a place to put underway big ones, the Connie, C-47 and a P5-M.
My little electronic picture frame. I can search for referance photos from a memory stick and keep them open without having paper all over.
Notice on my "bench" the recycled Ferrero cases, chinese take-out, and soft butter containers, in the cabinet!!!! RECYCLE
The labled two dollar shop plastic lunch boxes and the odd ice cream container for spares, tools and supplies.

***Oh and my Stash and overflow of stuff in a closet.

Dusty thread but I thought I would post why my modeling has taken a hiatus. The bench in my workshop is in the process of being moved to under the window in my revised workspace. It used to be on a wall that has been moved and now I need to organize all this stuff into a smaller footprint. The box with the flex hose at far right is a home made spray booth gifted me by a colleague who moved away. I may or may not incorporate this into the new area as the lighting inside it is terrible and the fan is a bit weak. I'm trying find a way to exhaust through the window but the -30C winters pose a challenge.

Thanks Geo. Yeah, kinda missing being back at the bench but summers are usually slow anyway. This year, this basement reno was the plan, along with lots of outdoor landscaping so I've been quite distracted. The workshop gets smaller but my man cave gets bigger. Still working the details on that but the framing, drywall and part of electrical are done.

-30? It's like 50°F here in the winter. Oh maybe a couple days to freezing but no more.

Wow, Andy, you've got a huge space! It's still being set up, sure, but it's like 110% bigger than mine! As a tip that might work for you regarding air extraction, if you have ducting from the area where the air comes out, you could install a duct fan instead of a fan in the booth. They're much more powerful and move a lot of air. Outside, you can install ducted non-return valves like this one, so you only need to install the standard vents you already have for your temperatures.

Thanks for that Sergio. The issue is that any permanent uninsulated duct to the outdoors will be a huge cold air source in the winter. I have a devious plan that I may try in the fall if and when this space gets finished.

But don't you have insulated ducts? Here in the high mountain villages where winter temperatures reach -20 to -26°C, they install them and several acquaintances of mine have their extraction systems vented to the street like that.
