Everybody told me it's expensive living here. I say "PPfftt." I came from the 4th most expensive state in the Union. Some things are actually cheaper.

Hey Chris, mein alter Freund, WELCOME TO THE SOUTH!!! and welcome to the Heat and Humidity!!!
If you recall we're further north and west of you in Arkansas. Have not seen a drop of rain here in over a month and temps most days are in the 95F - 105F(35C - 41C) range. The only mitigating factor is the lack of rain thus humidity has been in the 50% range. My Gfather lived in Pompano Beach, Fla. so we visited every summer even survived a hurricane one summer. Gramps house was near the Ocean so we always had the Land Breeze followed by the Sea Breeze, it helped a LOT. I also recall the little Skinks/Geckos everywhere in and out of the house. We have quite a few of them here but they strictly stay outside.
Gramps also had a canal in his backyard that lead to the ocean so Gators in the backyard were pretty common.
Never saw a bear there though we do have them here in Arkansas but rarely. Mostly Whitetail Deer that basically own the place and packs of coyotes every now and then . Got to be real careful driving in the evenings.
Looks like a really nice place. ENJOY!!!!
