Thanks GG for your kind comment too!
Yes, that is an interesting place to walk around.
You would forget time passing by:)

Attached image shows the free market in Osaka around 1946.
Time is frozen in the old temple.

Awesome vintage photo!

I notice that there's quite a few former Imperial Japanese military uniforms in the crowd, too. If I remember right, in post war Germany photos, there were quite a few German uniforms seen in everyday scenes for a while afterwards as well.

I like the market shots a great deal. I must admit I do love looking around for a bargain - however Osaka market looks considerably more interesting than the one I frequent in Camden Town, London!

:D

Thank you very much Aaron, Mike, GG and Paul for the compliments again!

I took a few more photos of the market in the old temple on the day.
I would like to introduce them as soon as they return from development.
Yes, they were taken in the classical way again by Kodak Ektachrome:)

Here are some more old photos taken in 1946.
Former IJA soldiers and children. They all look happy as the war is over.

There's a very good "vibe" about those photographs, a feel of a new beginning and optimism. The "jeep shot" shows the curiosity of children will overcome any fear of the unfamiliar!

Thanks GG too!
I'll put your preference in my mind for the future shots.

Kodak Ektachrome E100G is superb.
I'm scanning it frame by frame now.
Please do look forward to them soon!
Thanks.

Grau, Japanese gardens are definitely beautiful and well thought out. There are times when loneliness and withdrawal are called for but rocks and sand are not high on my list, unless the rocks are mountains and the sand is a beach. I appreciate the thought and planning but...
