Wayne, Those pics show a very large amount of flaking/chipping/etc. While I realize that these are War-machines that is a lot of paint damage. Was a very poor quality of paint used?
Your work is fantastic as always

Thanks Guys, Mike in the latter stages of the war Japanese aircraft were not primed before painting as in the earlier years so were much more prone to the effects of the paint flaking or chipping, some more than others depending on how well the application of paint was done and useage. So aircraft could be seen with plenty of wear and others practically none at all and many somewhere in between...

here are a couple of shots of my bird taken today outside in the sunlight where the chipping effect is less prominent than the close ups under lights inside, also I have painted the inside surfaces of the undercarriage covers in their black shade still to be drybrushed and the spinner is now painted also.

Thanks Wayne, I'm glad that you didn't do THAT much chipping, your paint job is way to nice to totally chip it. Very nice as always. Also learned something new. Trying to airbrush small parts, they blow away. I had been doing them on the spru which leaves the "chad hanging" and touchup work to be done. I see you use masking tape...learn something every day!

Ok, been busy with other stuff last few days...but chipping away just the same...

here is some paint on the props, the undercarriage legs, drop tank and another shot of the U/C covers...
