Thanks Guys, Mike in the latter stages of the war Japanese aircraft were not primed before painting as in the earlier years so were much more prone to the effects of the paint flaking or chipping, some more than others depending on how well the application of paint was done and useage. So aircraft could be seen with plenty of wear and others practically none at all and many somewhere in between...
here are a couple of shots of my bird taken today outside in the sunlight where the chipping effect is less prominent than the close ups under lights inside, also I have painted the inside surfaces of the undercarriage covers in their black shade still to be drybrushed and the spinner is now painted also.
