Ahoy
The build still continues, Still working on the fuselage assembly, In the kit they only give you so much cockpit detail the rest is up to you like that of plastic kits its up to the modeler if he chooses to supercede more detail then given. card kits are no different then plastic or wood the only limit is the guy who is building it.. I rolled up some paper tubeing and added them to the fuselage they represent longerons or frameing of the fuselage it does give the kit a lift then what it was I also added floor structures as well.. painted the inside of the forward fuselage yellow next I closed off the top of the fuselage and added the coamings I am letting the unit dry then give it a good burnishing the cardstock was sprayed with Krylon cdlear to make the build my applyable and handeling anmd protects the paper.. While the forward structure is drying I will proceed aft until completed this will be the next update. Later on i will do some research on this particular aircraft now here is the update.

Ahoy Fellows

Thanks for your reply on the build, as of now just finished doing some burnishing and checking out for any imperfections before I jopin the fuselage units together.. The turtle back had been glued into position on one side when the cement sets I will fold over and join the other side. Wojtek sounds like a good deal you and I being the only card modlers on the forum great compertition. On the next build report The fuslelage units will be joined and next will be the stabilizers.

i've never done one of these but i do have some of the fiddlersgreen downloads and am thinking about doing a piper cub to join Boats in this from paper but how do you score the paper without cutting it through,

There is a few ways for doing that Bob. Usually it can be done with scalpel blade, razor blade or just scissors.

Ahoy
Thanks fellas for all of your replies for my Group build i am Honered to be here you fellas make me right at home here Thanks wojtek for helping bob out on how to score and fold parets on cardfs models thanks Charles for your reply. Okay Gents here is another updsate build report on the Vimy she is coming along smoothly I love Polish kits that last build I done was strickly on the cobb..The following pictures show the joining of the front and back fuselage units after the glue dried hard and cured I gave it a good burnishing.I added the wind screens too, next i will move to the stabilizer assemblies rigging will be added durring the build it will mqke life easier for me.I done the research on this aircraft I never knew this but just goes to show you you will learn something everyday like my late Father told me one time when i was a young boy he quoted to me and said the day you stop leasrning is the day you stop liveing. This aircraft was the first to fly Transatlantic in 1919 it flew from Newfoundland to Ireland, by alcock and Brown these two Aviators were Honored for being the first to fly that distance I didn,t know that I always assumed that the flying fool charles lindbergh was the first..This expalins no markings on the aircraft. But it will make a good subject for the Group build and I thank you fellas for letting me join in. Here is the update build report I will post another this evening befor I knock off for ther night.

Ahoy Fellows

Thanks fellas for your replies on this update build report isw the stabilizer and rudder assemblies, on these assemblies consist of spars ribs and two halfs of the stabilizer itself, The rudder is one piece and its formed and glued into postion on the stabilizer for the night i am letting these dry and in the morning i will give it a good burnishing to smooth things out one thing about card kits there are slits on the edges of the wings stabilzers and rudders they are a eye sore at times but its tolerable.. Before i proceed any further with the assemblies ri8ggi9ng will have to be constructed i wil be useing thread on this instead of wire once the rigging is done i will start with the center wing section.
