Thanks for the nice words folks.

Made some good progress today, spraying the white round the front of the engine and exhaust cowl and engines mounted. I'll mask this tomorrow then add them to the wings.

Once the engines are on, this little Beau will be ready to spray that all elusive Foliage Green and after having read reams of debate on the exact colour, FS, Model Master, Humbrol…..bla, bla, bla…………..I'm going for RLM 70 and possibly the closest match.

Engines are looking good Vic. I think Xtracolour have Foliage Green in their range, if you can get some. Looks like more emerald than the RLM shade.

That's the other paint range I was trying to think off. I haven't used WEM paints either, but from all I've heard and seen, they're very good - the way Humbrol's original 'Authentic Colours' used to be, many years ago.

Thanks for the input guys re paint. I took a look at the White Ensign which I can readily vouch for being excellent paints having got and used them in the Luftwaffe and Russian colours. Unfortunately though the local cost from the only on line distributor I know of in Australia (we have none locally) charges $3.70 a pot, which in itself is acceptable but adding postage were upping the total cost to nigh on $14.00, which even for the likes of myself (gadget man and huge paint collection), I balk at.

I took another look at the colour this morning, I have a small Aussie WWII paint chart put out by Geoffrey Pentland in his RAAF Colours and Markings books, and have changed my mind about the RLM 70 which is just a little dark, but the Model Master 1712 Field Green is very close to the Foliage Green.

Thanks guys, it's a damp and very misty morning which may hang around till past noon, so spraying is delayed for the moment.

Mist finally cleared and the sun came out, so I nipped into the shed and started spraying. First couple of coats are on though I have to still do the underside, and she is still a little wet. Light is now fading so more spraying tomorrow, hopefully with no morning to noon mist.
