That jig is fantastic Andy. I've thought up a way to make the cuts 2 ways. Put a base plate on two adjacent sides and the angled cutting guide on the other 2 adjacent sides. Cut the grooves in one direction, then rotate the jig 90 degrees and cut the grooves in the other direction.

Doesn't work. You get the same direction all the time unless you make a separate jig.

In any case, I stuffed it up. The original pattern was too wide and putting cuts half way makes it too small and irregular looking so I'll need to order me some new ones.

Went to Squadron and found some for 4 bucks. Price with shipping: $19.87. F!ck me!!!!

Gonna wait til after Christmas and the inevitable online boxing day sales. If I can find some other deals. I'll throw the wheels in so shipping is not such a hit. May also luck into a set at a local store.

Andy, let me know if you find some. If not, straight after the 'silly season', I'll be ordering a few bits and pieces from Hannant's, so I can add the wheels and bung them in the mail to you.

Thanks all. Can't get my head around that description Glenn but I can freehand it from here.
A hard thing to describe in words and almost as hard to draw getting the perspective right with all the angles but I gave it a shot. Hope this makes it a little bit more clear.

Would it not be possible to make the side 'walls' higher, with a hole in both, into which an 'axle' can be slotted, to pass through the wheel, and out the other 'wall'?
Of course, this could only work if the wheel had a 'through' hole for the axle, without a 'hub cap' or retaining nut on the outside face. Also, if the jig was made with a 'hollow' bottom, it could then be turned over, to make the cuts in the opposite direction too.

Andy, I'm going to place an order for some stuff with Hannant's in the next day or two. Would you like me to add some wheels? It's no problem, and the 'True Details' wheels are fairly cheap, so you can have them on me, as a Chrissy prezzy (either late or very early!). Just let me know if they're the ones with spokes, or plain hubs.

Moved on to the intricate bomb racks. The first step is to scratch build the attachment points. All this stuff was made with card though the one pylon piece is the one supplied with the kit. I first used a paper template to get the shape right and then transferred the shape to the card and cut it. The ends were closed roughly and then cut to shape once the glue had set. The final picture shows the pylon glued to the "pyramid" and primer applied to look for imperfections. There are a few and these will be tackled next.
