Nice Wayne.

So this Mr. Surfacer stuff, is it just a thick primer? I've heard a lot of people use it but I have a hard time finding it in my home town here. What's the diff between the 500 and 1000? Are there alternative products?

Sure does. I's like to know more about the Mr S products too - always see them mentioned in various mags etc, but haven't seen the stuff around my area.
Just one thing though Wayne; there should be a small gap where the struts meet the tail planes, as this was a 'knuckle' joint to allow articulation of the variable incidence mechanism, the curved slot for which can be seen on the fin, adjacent to the leading edges of the tail plane. The latter would, in original factory finish, have three black lines marking the incidence angles.

The difference between 500 1000 Andy is the consistency, they are both quite liquefied the 1000 (I think) is the thinner and is good for filing fine lines such as scratches or joints that don't quite meet as well as you would like.

Yeah I know...but it looked sh!tty the way it was and I didn't want to improve it...was going to reshape the end and add some small rod to fix it up and make it look right...decided to just fill it...most people don't even know what we are talking about..!

I rushed it with the hope of doing more painting than just the red band this weekend but other things got in the way! damnit!...goal not achieved...:(

Only got to mask the Red band...was into the Ju88 today...:D
