Yea, how DO you do that Wayne! I noticed that on your JU-88 build. Its a wonderful effect to give scale to the model.

Well....it's a thinned down mottle that is slowly built up over the model...I do a small portion at a time always checking my consistency of paint on a piece of paper or on my hand! I wipe off the tip periodically to prevent any spatter from paint build up, it takes a while to do the job!

The RLM 65 was the easy bit straight application no mottling...the RLM 02, 71 and 70 took about 2 - 2 1/2 hours to do...you gotta be patient and real careful!

The Ju-88 basically took forever to do!! I'm looking forward to the Israeli Phantom camo!

Comp is on now as we speak...it's Sunday morning here....so will be heading back after lunch to see how I went....there were some real good models in my category, so fingers crossed!
