Ah, the moving the engine back ploy! Very good Kato!
It looks a heck of a lot better in the 'new' position Dan. I hope your back problem eases up soon - seems to be an inherent affliction in us ex- forces types!

My back has been a problem since that day in Iraq when I got tossed by some Iraqi artillery... Bulging and deteriorating discs, arthritis and a loss of cartilage on L1 pretty much spell pain for me till the day they lay a flag over my coffin....

And yea Terry, many of my former Teammates have lower back problems... Too many jumps and too much weight on ur back will do it every time....
 
As I was looking at it Dan I was thinking "crankcase looks good,what's the problem?"Then read the comment about the move.All I can say looks good from here and the right action was taken.Cheers Bud.

Its not too bad Paul, dealing with pain is something I learned a long time ago... But my back strains pretty easily and when it does, the likelihood of a spasm that pinches my sciatic nerve is pretty high.... I have to avoid those spasms at all costs as it will drop me on my back for a couple days...

That being said, yesterday was a much better day back-wise...
 
Yep, I remember my first Company Sgt Major saying that it would all catch up with me eventually. Of course, being young, supremely fit, and a little brash, I thought 'Yeah..' Then, God knows how many jumps later, and tabbing across hills and jungles with far to much weight on my back, I found out he was right! And now I'm almost totally knackered!
 
I'm with Wayne. Whatever you do, your health comes first. If the model isn't finished in time for the end of the GB, so what? Don't rush it just to get it posted, that can be done later. This one is special, a tribute to your Grandfather, so it's got to be spot on. I hope you're feeling better soon mate.
 
Has anyone spoken to you about orthotic insoles?
Weird I know, but the jumps and the weight on the back will attack the arches; it's the loss of symmetry there that can lead to some painful lower back problems. I would never have figured out that my back problems were being caused by my feet but I use orthotics now in all of my footwear and my aches and pains have virtually disappeared. It's a simple case of original shoe liner out, orthotic in - it feels like you've got a boiled egg in your shoe to begin with but you don't even notice them after a while.
 
Colin is correct, what you wear will directly affect your back and well whole body. This is why Doctors warn against excessive sandal wearing as its no support and direct damage to the back. Not noticeable at first, but it adds up over the years. Thats why I rock new balances!
