The Folgore finish looks wonderful Kirby! Thanks for the explanation of the oil weathering... something I've played with but not have had consistent results with it.

Thanks guys! Added streaking to the undersides using oils concentrating on the area behind the wheel wells and the landing gear and control surface articulation points. Some chipping was also added to the leading edges of the radiator and oil cooler housings using the sponge method.

Some heavier streaking from the oil cooler and radiator will be added with the airbrush following flat coating, but otherwise the underside is done.

The prop blades were weathered by salt fading and sponge chipping with aluminium enamel. The spinner was weathered with oils and also some sponge chipping.

I wasn't able to get good shots of the finished weathering on the upper sides due to glare from the gloss finish so will post these once the flat coat is on tomorrow. Then it's just to add the landing gear and sticky outy bits and she's done!

Thanks guys! OK, flat coat on after addition of streaks and stains to the upper camo. This bird operated out of Sicily so some sandy coloured dirt was built up selectively along wing panel lines. Some chipping was then added to areas like wing leading edges, cowl, and supercharger intake using the sponge method. Chipping was added to high wear areas like wing roots and selected panels and bolts using a silver Prismacolour pencil.

Beautiful work Kirby! Your paint finish has a wonderful depth and solidity that reflects your thoughtful layered approach.
