《edited》Was about to say F4U-5N Corsairs used them though, so *maybe* Hellcats did too - but maybe only F4U-5 day fighters did? -5Ns retained the launchers in any case.

Will check my references tonight on that...

5N was a post WWII aircraft, Korean War. I believe that F6F-5N was configured for rockets but not used in A2A intercept missions.

So....................... back to serious stuff!!!!!
This seat did not have the ? innit.
so I put it there!

Just for ref.... HB on left, Ed on right
The HobbyBoss is fat ass all around.
GB58-37.jpg
Same with the cowling. There are 3
in the kit. Made an attempt to open flaps
on one ofem, my just leave them closed.
But the HB cowl is just not a good fit.

Now I have found that the F6F-3N was a secret
conversion, not much known as to what was
changed on them except they had different
consoles, and IP. So I am assuming they in their
5 day conversion and delivery, rockets were never
planned to be used. So I have (1) filled the holes.
(2) there was only one landing light in the Port wing,
this was added to a hole!
(3), there was a cannon with long barrel w/flash
tip so I have installed kit double barrels, long
barrel when I'm far enough along not to knock it off!

It goes on!

Thanks to everyone looking in........
A bit more, this is typical of the
flashing in this kit!! Dang.
GB58-40.jpg
I added a tank seam, .5mmx.5mm
styrene strip, carefully!
GB58-41.jpg
Wing halves are together, Granny clamps.
GB58-42.jpg
I found a very obscure photo of the
I.P. mounted radar indicator, one type.
I've read because of the "secret" delivery
of these night fighters, no two were alike.
It looked like a normal 3" instrument,
longer protruding to the front of gunsight.
Just s vert glass, maybe high or low indicator.
GB58-43.jpg
and this little box was a controller.
How they managed, I cannot know.
GB58-44.jpg
Cockpit and other Painting going on now.
Some wheel well detailing. Then the engine!
