I was thinking it would be unlikely to use rockets, air to air!!!!!I should keep my comments to myself, buttttt, I wouldn't expect to see any USN night fighters, configured for night operations, I would not figure would use rockets.
5N was a post WWII aircraft, Korean War. I believe that F6F-5N was configured for rockets but not used in A2A intercept missions.《edited》Was about to say F4U-5N Corsairs used them though, so *maybe* Hellcats did too - but maybe only F4U-5 day fighters did? -5Ns retained the launchers in any case.
