THX GG. It would be great if I could do that GG.I could help everyone who would need the kind of help.

I think Wojtek waves a 'Wurger Wand'! great stuff Wojtek, amazing detail shots, and very fast!
Dan, glad I was able to help, but I'm sure Master Wayne will be able to give further guidance - I've only ever done the earlier canopy on '190's, not the blown hood.

Ive got the one piece attached to the fuselage and the end attached to the mast on the top of the rudder.... Gonna let em dry and then figure out, hopefully with some help, on how to attach it to the canopy....

Then just figure out how to get the fuselage piece to attach to the main wire and tada...

Sounds good Dan. Although the way I described works, it's best to leave it until you are sure. I'd prefer Wayne to add his advice before you proceed further.
I'm now at the same stage, about to add all the small bits like the underwing antenna (forgotten the name of the darn equipment!), the other antennas, U/C pegs and main radio antenna wires. Might get it done tonight, if my hands loosen up. Like you, I don't want to f***k it up now!!

I'd wait for Wayne before you attach the wire to the canopy. I know what the 1/32nd scale canopy moulding looks like for the 'standard' canopy, which wouldn't be a problem to attach too, but I'm not familiar with the attachment point on the blown canopy. The principle/method should be the same, but, for the sake of one attachment point, see what Wayne advises first.
Bet you're dead excited now, as it's nearly done!
Question is, what are you going to start on next? There's still plenty of time for another entry, different scale perhaps?
I have to say, this GB thing has certainly increased the modelling activity here - I wonder if the manufacturers will notice an increase in sales in the coming months!!!!
"Quick, Helmut, make more of zer Heinkels, zat Vorld Var Two forum is making der built again!!!"
"Mein Gott, Franz! How do zey verk zo fast!"
"Ich nicht kennen, but der profits of der companie are on die up!"

The easy part is fitting the slack main wire....normally I would attach a piece of stretched sprue to the canopy first at the top of the attachment point. (this of course is after the canopy has been painted!)

before proceeding further you need to drill a very small hole in the upper rear fuselage for the secondary wiring.

Now, I dip the end of the piece of sprue in some super glue to pick up a tiny bit on the end then carefully attach it...making sure it is basically laying flat back along the rear of the canopy, then allow it to dry.
You can then fit the canopy and determine the amount of droop of your length of sprue. put a tiny drop of super glue on the top of the aerial post on the fin and carefully place the sprue at the angle necessary, the super glue should 'grab' it...let it set! Cut the excess with sharp knife or nipper or nail clips. With a pin or needle CAREFULLY put another tiny drop of super glue on the attachment point(s) for a bit more strength and leave to set.
Oh....and paint the sprue before you start!!

If your canopy is already fitted...still follow the same steps...it's just a bit more awkward thats all....

The easy part is over....the hard part getting a small piece of sprue to settle and form the correct sag from the main wiring and fuselage attachment point!

This is much more difficult and may require a few tries to create this short piece in the correct shape....AND then you have to attach it.....you may wish to heat it up to form it or simply attempt to bend it, which is how I do it until I'm satisfied...

Good luck Guys.....

Having said that, you can always shut the canopy and keep the wiring straight, it's easier!

Alright, got the antennas glued into place... One question remains....

How far SHOULD the canopy be opened???? It seems like the majority of Dora models built have the canopy opened up to the back of the seat....

However, there is photo evidence that it could be opened further..... What posistion should I glue it down??? Heres some pics to compare and get an opinion from those who know more than I...

I think it is enough of you can move the cockpit conopy to the position like it is shown in the RED13 and RED1 pictures.

I agree Wojtek, but was there a mechanism or a way to break the canopy "locks" that prevented the canopy from sliding any further back than the seat back???

Since the pics of Red1 and 13 show them after capture, I was wondering if they were abused or broken, as I cant seem to find any "normal" pics of it being opened so far....
