Yep...I usually turn up later in the game...I have been searching for RNZAF F4U1a Corsair NZ5517 for close to 45 years...know the story backwards and pretty sure I know where it went and what happened to it...funny how people make the mistake of following unspecified info then build on that to develope 'facts' around a likely location...btw, the 'crash' site is within 6 km of a town...and yes...the aircraft is in one piece...

It's not conclusive evidence, is it. It can barely be called "circumstantial". I've just read through a New Zealand aviation forum thread (Wings over New Zealand) on Barstow's aircraft and there have been a lot of people saying this and saying that over the years, but all have come up dead ends with no real evidence to back up the claims, just the usual cagey looks when hard evidence is requested. The aircraft has yet to be confirmed found. If it has, more than a horrendously blurry image is needed to be convincing.
