I believe Vancouver got caught crying wolf to often with the flopping and floundering ,

I mostly agree with you on this point, I don't like seeing dive artists either.
But I'd also like to see them get the reffing under control, there's too much crap going on.

How about this for an idea - put a microchip sensor on each stick each helmet glove.
If you don't have the puck and your stick contacts someone's face/helmet or wrist - automatic 2 min penalty, just like the auto 2 for puck over glass.
There's really no excuse for hitting another player with your stick (above the waist) unless you are shooting.

It will take the ref's guesswork out of those high sticks slashes.
Then there would be little excuse for diving - if he didn't hit you = no penalty

I realize as a Van fan you hear more posturing by the pro Van media

I'm actually mostly working in Calgary or Winnipeg these days, so I get the pro-Flames or pro-Jets media. I also listen to hockey on XM, so I always get the home feed, whichever city they are playing in (unless it's on HNIC)

 Along with 2/3 of the Oilers roster...

But now you have superstar Smyth right? He'll score 50 goals next year. :p

Problem with the microchip idea is that they'll be going off constantly from being hit, though it has merit. It's been brought up to do the same for pucks.

Yeah, Smytty'll get us 50G, as will Hall!

But what was the GM smoking when he signed Horcoff to 6 years?

I don't mind the term, it's the money. He's overpaid. He's been a really good soldier and is a good captain. All of the kids look up to him, and like him with the C. In fairness to him, he's been hampered by injuries (mainly shoulder) the past couple years. He actually made the All-Star team not long ago, and won the fastest skater competition. Also took and won the most faceoffs in the league. Was he paid above his abilities? Yes. Is he valuable to the team? Absolutely. And while he is grossly overpaid, we're not even at the cap floor at this point (though we may be with Smyth's contract) so it really doesn't matter, and it won't affect us signing the kids.

Not to mention, that contract was signed coming off the 2006 Cup Run, when Lowe was trying to keep as much of the team together as he could.

Went to Dunville last Sun to get a pic of Horton and the Cup with the little girl , he was there but the Cup was on a different flight which arrived 2 hours later so I got squat

Can't win them all. Looch has won alot more than he's lost and he's 1000 times the hockey player. Orr's only a goon with zero talent. Well he's got a little more talent than Sanchez I guess.......LOL.

Funny you keep saying that...if I remember correctly who beat the Pats in the game that counted ? The Jets.

I think you meant he's got more talent than the saints who lost to the 7-9 seahawks.
