Hi viking Berserker,
the underside was a patchwork of different plastics and filler. Difficult to engrave panellines. The foil makes things easier and a little bit stronger!

Progress slows down a bit.

Wingtips and aileron were cemented in place. The wingtips came from the old Revell ship. As you can see there is always the need for sanding in places believed to be finished.

It looked like a really clean aircraft (in real life I mean); I wonder why Messerschmitt's engineering design team never tried to smooth the carburettor intake into the overall airframe design more.

Hi Capt. Vick,
Messerschmitt was and is the most overestimated airplane constructor in Germany. He ruined many designs. The BF 110, the 210+410, the 209, the 309 and his 109 was't state of the art too. The better planes, the ME 163 wasn't his design and from the ME 262 he was wisely kept away.

The 209 later was reengined with the same Jumo as the FW 190-D and promptly was slower by 20 mph!
There are men here who say Messerschmitt was Churchills best man!

Crikey! Imagine what kinda machines we would have seen if the others, Heinkel, Junkers etc., have had the same backing as Messerschmitt....
Would have been interesting to know how he ruined those designs mentioned....maybe that's for another thread.

The undercarriage is pure guess. For the mainlegs I used surplus Dora parts. Wheel doors are adapted from the Matchbox E reinforced with metal.

And at last the metal covered slats were cemented to the wings.
