I have been busy, but just haven't down loaded the pictures from the camera. Sorry about that guys. But tonight I got busy!

I couldn't wait to do a test fit of the fuselage and wings. And is it super!!! Tamiya has a super winner here as you can see! There is NO glue or filler used!

I have the gun bay completed. Overall the fit is excellent. The only problem are the parts C-34 C-35. These are the rods that go between the front and rear bulkheads. They have to slightly bend around the feed tubes for the guns.

I plan to build the 262 with the gun bay doors open so all can see this detail. Yes, it will make the cammo a bit harder to do. It will be worth it when I am done.

I love the Tamiya has modeled the part for the nose gear bay in metal. I am sure this is more than heavy enough to put the nose wheel on the ground.

I haven't put on the nose wheel and the landing gear door that mounts on the oleo. I will do that when the painting a decaling is all done.

I really didn't want to put in the nose oleo yet, but the way everything goes together I didn't see any choice. With the jet pods, I don't see this as much of a problem.

Here is the nose gear assembly and the gun bay put together. I didn't use any glue here. It just slips together just fine.

Now the cockpit tub get glued in. I did have to scrape some paint off the the edges of the tub ends and the sides of the fuselage.

I am sounding like a broken record, but the fit is excellent.

Now the nose gear gun bay assenbly is glued in.

I will glue the fuselage together on Sunday. And that will finish Step 5. Step 6 is already done.

I am planing to put the jet engine pods on the wings before I attach the wings to the fuselage. That way it should be easier to get the fit right. Not that this kit is much of a challenge. I am just trying to make easy, easier!
