Thanks all. On Sunday and Monday we had lightning storms at the start of our shift and had to evacuate the pit as there was a loaded blast pattern. This occurs when the lightning is within 5kms. The stand-down lasted about 90 minutes.

Nice lightning captures!

Looks like it was a fierce storm.

And those blades are huge - we had a wind farm installed on Hatchet Ridge on the eastern slope of the valley here and the blades had to be trucked in from Reno over the back side of the Sierras because the highway from this side is too narrow and winding.
 
I had the opportunity to climb up the inside of a finished turbine mast into the generator house and out the hatch to sit on top of the house just behind the turbine hub. Yes they are big!
