Congrats on the Nanchang solo! I am hoping to do a photoshoot with the local CJ guys soon.
Thanks.
One of the local guys who shoots a lot of air-to-air uses it as a camera ship, apparently they are a good stable platform.
I'm just getting comfortable with the machine now, after 3 or 4 hours solo, so I'll look to learn a bit of formation work.

You'll have to make your way down to this part of the world. It would be a 'business expense' of course!

Yeah, a business expense, although I will have to sell a fair amount of photos to pay for that airfare! I have heard CJs work well for photos. The T-6 (especially the former gunnery training ones with the retractable rear canopy and rotating seat) is a great photo ship as well, but not real fast. The T-34 has always been a solid one for me as well.

The chang only cruises at 135 kts, so isn't that fast either, but is a lot cheaper to operate than the T-6.
We take the rear canopy off for photo shoots, there are only a couple of screws that retain it. Gavin, who does a lot of photography from it has a harness that allows him to turn and sit sideways on the seat.

We usually get one or two guys down from up that way. I'm not sure if they are associated with magazines or what.

Spend weekend in the sun, in the pub beergarden and at the Southside Festival, good rockabilly (boy am I surprised!) and blues!
Got a tinsy wee tad.....sunburnt! Sooo, no pics!!
