Well you dont buy them at all one time. Given what things like drinking can cost its quite inexpensive when spread out month to month.

At least my modest 23 are all earmarked for specific builds, and should keep me going for the next 18 months or so....er...maybe. I've just worked it out, if I was to go out to the pub, say, twice a week, at current UK pub prices, I'd probably spend at least £20 (probably more!), over a total period of around 7 hours. So that's £2.85 per hour of 'entertainment'.
The average kit costs me around £15, and keeps me occupied for around 50 to 70 hours, plus research which, on average, is another 20 hours (often much more). So that's maybe 80 hours, for example, of 'entertainment', at less than 19 pence per hour!!
Even adding the cost of paint etc, which, of course, is used for numerous 'builds', it'll still be well under 50 pence per hour!!
