How about this wee stinger, from the Dhofar Mountains in Oman many years back.

May very well be Dave, not sure. But there are very few Pine trees in region.
Well, perhaps this one ate them all? :lol:

I just checked and it is, indeed, a Pine beetle.

It's a "whitespotted pine sawyer" (Monochamus scutellatus) to be exact. We have one similar out here, except it has only the white spot in the center and no light patches.
 
Let's see, First to Terry: Quit sticking your finger in their mouth and they won't bite!
Now caught this little critter walking across the Living Room floor as the dogs were trying to eat him
And last these are rare until September when the males migrate trying to find mates

We've got scorpions here in Lethbridge, but they're sting is in the bee sting category. Also have Black Widow spiders whose bit is a bit more serious.
