Amazing pictures Shin-san, I suppose lots of glue to stick seal the old posers up on the wall helped preserved them, along with the reputations of those whom put them up and maybe if they make the wall more colourful too...

As for the ealier translations, google does come up with some wierd brief descriptions... (no 'poor', but then dialect normally isn't in national dictionaries..)

Thanks your comment, razor1uk. I think you are an artist of words:)
Thanks again your warm words, Eric and ontos!

An evening scene of my downtown.
You don't have to think they are all Japanese as one third of them are from China recently.
Without listening to them, it is hard for me to identify who's which:lol:
Other one third belongs to Korea around this area.

Thanks Aaron. Please let me tell you our special place - the back street restaurants.
This is a sort of traditional restaurant style for the local residents - quiet and at-home atmosphere.
A good place for a good tourist too:)

I am in the same circumstances as you, Aaron - USA is not near for me:)

Thanks Wayne and Crimea River!
They are modernized statues at the Isshinji Temple.
The temple was established in 1185 and one of the oldest ones in Japan. Usually such an old temple tries to stay conservative with old fashioned Buddhist altar fittings to show dignity but Isshinji has taken an alternative way - to walk with modern people with modern sense. This would be one way for the religionists to survive and I never deny it as long as they have Buddhist's spirit.

It is always difficult to reconcile old traditions with the new. these are very beautiful and I would not have expected them to be "modern". Very nice Shinpachi. It is great to have you back on the forum
