Hi Lads.... Attached a 1/16" spar across the leading edges of the wings, and sanded them down. Also gave the wings one coat of the 50/50 mix. Pic's as promised. More coats of the 50/50 mix and more sanding is needed.

Those wing tips look great!

Thanks, Paul. Never will I do another wing-tip according to the plans. They look too crappy. BTW, just finished a second coat of the 50/50 mix on the top side of the wings. Tomorrow I will un-pin the wings and hit the bottom a couple of times.

Very cool, that balsa looks amazing when its all done up and painted :D Real skill needed in this one :) Amazing ! :)

Worked on the "racer". tonight. Another coat of the 50/50 mix on the fuselage and wings and glued up the pieces for the wheel pants. Got one of them where I want it. Now to get them to look like twins, and some sanding sealer.

Got both wheel pants where I want them, and have given them one coat of sanding sealer. Now to move to a 400 grit paper, more sanding and more sanding sealer. The bad news is my LHS called me, today, to tell me the 3/4" wheels I ordered are on back-order. Might have to find another source for 3/8" thick wheels. (or OMG, use the wooden one's that came with the kit.)
