Thank you Wojtek.
Harrison, when I get a chance I'll post it in your P40 thread. It looks like the 'drawing' is actually a 'separation' from the original print, but with a couple of things omitted. In other words, probably not a drawing at all, but a monochrome line image.

Looken good there Terry, to bad you cant see much of the engine work. Any chance you might leave to cowling off the second engine and make it look like maintance being done. Just a suggestion.

Yep, that's what I mentioned. I've been dithering over that, but I've figured out a way of doing it so that it'll look realistic and to scale, and also found some pics of how the exhausts and wiring were arranged. So, all being well, I should be able to leave off one of the top cowlings on the starboard engine. Thankfully, although the exhaust system is a bit tricky, there's not much else in the way of wiring, plumbing etc to show, as it's mostly behind the firewall. The main features here will be the twin ignition leads to each cylinder, again very tidily disappearing behind each cylinder bank, through the firewall.
There are two exhausts per cynlinder, coming off the front, centre of each cylinder barrel, and running forward to join the collector ring, which forms the front cowling ring. This then exits into the exhaust pipe and flame damper, on the starboard side of each engine.
Making and fitting the pipes to each cylinder shouldn't be too bad (famous last words!), but the job of mating them to the collector ring is going to take some fiddling about I think!
Hopefully, I might have made some progress by tonight. If not, you'll hear some very loud cursing drifting across the Atlantic......
