Participation looks abit lite this go round so thought I drop something in the hat fellas.I purchased the Smer 1/48 version of the Walrus which looks to be okay in the moulds and I was pleasantly surprised that the hull/fuselage was engraved to some nice effects. The interior is sparse for the most part which is just fine for I am going for eye appeal that a case provides.I should get started shortly in the next week and it should be a quick build with the rigging slowing things down just alittle.
Kevin, please edit your first post and delete these pice. Then post them again as the next post. Some time ago we all agreed the first post should be as short as possible. The reason for that was Horse had set the first post as the first post displayed of each page of a thread.
Nice choice Kevin. I've always wondered what the Smer kit of the Walrus is like, and quite fancy doing a 'rescue' diorama at some time, so I'll be watching this one.
Thanks for the support might need it I was cutting off the spruces the other night sanding and test fitting when the termite swarm started happening and had to close up shop.So I went inside got on the puter and started doing some research on the girl and started seeing what might be some nice add ons that will be easy to fabricate.I also saw lots of rigging which I will have to make many eyebolts.
Terry:I am thinking this may be an old rebox with the amount of flash I got denoting old moulds a possibility.

Yep Jan that is the moulds Merit.I think with some work it will make a suitable representation by adding rigging, eyebolts for lifting, cables and a few other external doo-dads.
Good one Kevin. I've had this kit in my stash for some time and was tempted to pull it out for this GB but with summer coming I would never finish it in time with all that rigging. I guess I'll go with a float PT-20 if anything. Will be following your build closely.
