Ive had a go at making my own replacement. It worked, but its a far cry from the high quality product that caame with the kit. i may have to bite the bullet and order replacements from novascale grrrr

here are some shots of the (nearly) completed kit, with the makeshift port side roundel. I managed to get it looking half decent, but ive also ordered replacements from novascsle. I will have to make a decision on whether to put a new roundel on before applying the top sealing clear finish. in the meantime i will work on the Seiran and try and get it finished in the time remaining. i definately bit off more than i could chew on this GB.....

Actually looks pretty good Michael. War machines were far from pristine and mechs had a lot more to worry about than "Look Pretty" IMHO you've done a very nice job

just a quick update. model is finished, except im considering whether or not to apply a top clear coat. This would certainly protect the decals, but might make the paintwork new and shiny, which for this weatherbeaten version, I do not want.

I should be reay to post final shots this weekend

here are the 'done shots that i intend to enter in my 'finished thread. This was a tricky build, and i spent a lot more time doing the innards of this aircraft. As an optional shot I am entering a couple of shots at the point i felt the interior was completed. not sure if thats allowed, but what the heck

thanks guys. i dont know whats happened with my finished shots.....they are different to these, which are at least closer to what i need to post.

this kit was nice yo build, but the decals from the converted RAAF scheme were good quality but very fussy. i b*ggered up one of the roundels. The water dip was too hot and it just scrunched into a little ball on me. one of the top sidde roundels is home made, but it turned out okay in the finish.

The other thing about this build is the model is very heavy from all the lead ive put in it. I will not be able to leave it on its own legs for long. it has to weigh a good 0.1 Kg i think.
