The RED dot shows the Electrical power socket hatch.

With regards to the Sheen issue it can be a matte to semi matt to semi gloss depending on the paint and application, some pics show the variations some don't, lighting conditions and angle add fuel to the fire....

My Baer 190 has a light sheen to it but in many shots you wouldn't know it...

Yes, the red dot should be there.....however...close examination of the area leads me to believe the hatch cover has been removed...as there is a hint of a small shadow when there shouldn't be?

and the final finish should have a slight sheen to it. your model certainly ALREADY looks pretty good....don't over do it!

Red 13 looks to be a newer crate than Red 1 tho Wojtek... The peeling/flakin paint on 1 compared to 13 is severe, as well as the exhaust stains... I think/thought that Sachsenbergs kite was slighlty more used and beat up...

Oh..sorry Dan. I was thinking about my favourite JV44 kite when writing the post.Of course there should have been "Red1".Just like in the pic you upladed. It is clearly visible the bird was slightly of shinning. So we can say she should be a little bit semi-gloss facture.

I agree with Wayne and Wojtek on the 'sheen'.
That 'Red Dot', as Wayne pointed out, is the cover over the ground power unit socket. The cover itself is a round 'flap', not unlike one you might find on the fuel tank of a car, and this is set within the circular mounting. If looked at straight on, it appears as two circles, one within the other. The cover, and often the circular mount, was painted red, to be immediately visible to ground crew. In the pic, it is possible that the cover is missing, or not fitted in the first place, which was common, but the area would still be painted red.
It should be just visible in the attached pic of my 1/48th Dora, inside the black cross. (if I've posted the right pic!)

Cool Terry, I added the decal and it went on perfectly, not too "Bright" like the model up above... I'll post pics soon, maybe in the am tomorrow... I got most everything stuck on now, including gear doors and antennas.... Goota dry before handling and spray...

Still have to do the gloss spice up, as well as finish the spinner (got the yellow done, gloss is drying, then tape off and RLM66 spray, install gunsight and the canopy pieces, which Im gonna need help on doing...

Then comes the dreaded antenna wire job........................
