Jan I've found that the Mithril Silver brushes and sprays pretty good for the things I have tried it on so far....only test sprayed the other 2 colours at this stage.

Got 3 of the defensive guns almost done....but no pics yet, had time mapped out Sunday arvo for Ju88 time and the Missus decided we were going out...modelling time over before it started....Sh!t !!!

....managed to cut out the vacform rear canopy section today, the one bit I was not looking forward too...so far so good...

That's a bummer when your all set on one thing and it's suddenly all change, often get the same treatment. Canopies in any shape or form, painting, cutting or cleaning, not an enviable task, but you look to have done good

Here is the forward Canopy Gun, added the strap and cocking handle....can't fit the ring sight and small shroud until its in the canopy....now thats gonna be fun!

finally a update..been looking for that..and that Mg looks awsome.. "BUT"..here i go again..hehe
just cant sit and see such a great model miss any detail.. the rear part of the Mg 15 is in dark brown bakelite or wood..also the handle.. that would make it look even better..and i love the small details you made on it

Hi Guttorm, saw the pics on your site and reviewed a couple of other images which looked quite dark overall for the guns so went with the overall dark Metal/Grey look....just maybe they were Dark Brown then, which didn't show up, will change it!
The handle is in dark brown it just doesn't appear so in the pic.

Of course, the one I had access to was for infantry use, with a butt stock, so there was no need to hold the receiver, whereas the aircraft mounted gun was steadied by placing the left hand on top of and across the receiver - which gets hot! Hence the wooden or bakelite 'sleeve' over the receiver tube.
