will look and see what i find. but i am in sweden right now but i am sure you will come thru with this
Wayne, can you use a needle and heat it and carefully stick the canopy to make a mounting point? It will take a steady hand but with your talent I'm sure it won't be very difficult.

You could use the hot needle as a center punch per say to make a small mark to help keep the drill bit centered. That way you are less likely to slip with the drill bit and scratch the plastic.
Masking tape over the spot, a small pin mark from the scalpel, to mark the spot and as a 'pilot hole, then drill. If bit slips, it hits tape, not clear part.
Ok, after about an hours messing about I have created the Nose window mounted compass box...
2 small squares of plastic card glued together then shaped roughly into a cube/box about 2mm square!!
Then drilled the back and attached a tiny brass rod, painted the box and found a left over dial from my etch set for the front and I think I have it?...well pretty close anyway!
Have predrilled a small hole in the nose glass...very carefully.
Probably add one more tiny bit of card to the back to help support the compass box....
every posible superlative has been used to describe your work Wayne so i am going to create a new one it is just
WAYNE meaning it is so above and beyond it is godlike
