Gezz .....Harrison who is saying that the model is a crap? I'm very sorry if I offended you in any way.I do appologize. I still have in my mind it is your first model. That's way I have to mantion about all mistakes you did.Whay ...simply for the future. How do you want to learn about building models when all saying you doing well?. Everyone of us here makes mistakes when building model even now after 20 or 40 years. Our comments have to be a help but not the reason of giving up.

Get back and continue working, please.

I quit.

And something else, I had asked, one the previous should I go glue the wings, and no response so what am I suppose to do? (surely I'm not going to sit here for 3 days waiting.)

I haven't been modeling for 40 years or how ever long everyone else has. You guys have been modeling more years than I have been alive.

I entered the GB to have fun, and some help. I really don't care if you think my model is crap, I don't care, I haven't been modeling, it's my first one. What may be crap to you seems pretty good to me. So I quit. I'm done with modeling.

Thanks.

Harrison

I know it can be hard to take criticism on something you are working so hard on but everyone here is trying to help you. This is your first model and there will be mistakes. As Wurger stated EVERYONE makes mistakes so you need to relax. You also have to keep in mind not everyone is online every day and can answer your questions right away.

A lot of the comments and tips that have been made are simple and you will remember them for the next one. No one is criticizing you or your work.

One other suggestion for you if you don't already do it. Look up and read as many Works In Progress (WIPs) no matter what kind of plane and see what and how these guys are doing what they do. Then you can copy or make your own version of that technique. Here is a link for you.

Re: Me410 - FineScale.com Forums

This guy is an expert model builder. Now I wouldn't expect you to be able to do the things he does but the kewl thing is he details every step of the build. I refer back you his builds all the time in my builds.

I think I speak for just about everyone here when I say keep at it and we all look forward to seeing this one completed and the start of the next one.

Easy there. Take a few days off from it. I havent done a model for the website yet, hopefully soon. Everyone here is trying to help you. Take it as a lesson learned when someone tells ya something. If anything write it down for next time. Dont give up after you have invested all this time in it. Like I said, take a day or two off, then come back at it full force. I have read this post from the begining with great intrest, and your doing great. Especially for your first one. I cant wait to see it done.

Harrison...what's going on here mate? sounds like your a bit frustrated.... please keep on modelling, don't give up, we're on your side and here to help and support you......you just need to be a bit patient mate!:D

Harrison
There are a lot of people watching you, and cheering at the progress and effort you are putting in.

Learning skill can be frustrating, you must be patient.

I was really hanging to see your completed model rolled out and shown off to everyone.

Dont quit hang in there.....

Harrison, your work is much better than mine at your age. You are doing a good job. I instruct adults all of the time. One of the things that I always say is if you are not making mistakes you are not learning. Sometimes are greatest advances comes from our mistakes. Keep at it. A person has to preform a task 10,000 times to master it. I have only 9,999 models left to make. Before you know it, you will be the one teaching model building.

Thanks for the kind words.... I know Dirk everyone can't be online everyday. I understand you must support your families and yourselves and I give you a lot of respect for working hard. It's just that I know the comments were for next time but , nevermind.

I'll keep working..

OK. I can see now.You don't need to attach the spinner-propeller part now.You will do that later when the model is painted.

Now these are much better. I need a few otrher pics of the P-40 general view, left, right, upper and undeside views. If you can, please get a close up pic of the P-40 nose from side view.

ehm here, The picture where the wing looks scratched up occurred after it was glued. My older brother thought it would be funny to hit my hand when gluing so it got partially on the wing. It had to be sanded down.
