Great tutorials Wojtek....

Putty is fairly easy to find Harrison, get ur Dad to take u to the Hobby Store this weekend and get urself a tube, it will last for years....

When u do get around to getting the seams filled, remember, alittle goes a long way... Start out lightly and see how it does, dont get crazy and start ploppin it down, use it sparingly to fill/cover just what u want to be fixed....

Dan, I am going to a movie tomorrow for my little brothers birthday, there is a hardware store next door. Can I get it there ?

I don't think they would but you never know. You could always go to the auto store and get some body putty like they use on cars. Some modelers swear by it because they hate the squadron green and white putty's so much. I have to admit I've never tried it on a model before.

Im no expert when it comes to putty and whatnot, so I dont know the differences between the red and green, nor the different putty products available at LHS's...

Any idea the difference between red and green Dirk??? And what kind of things were those fellas sayin about the stuff???

According to the owner of the LHS, the only difference is the color. Depending on the paint scheme you are going to use you might want the white putty (red tube) over the green putty (green tube). There is no difference in the compound itself (so I'm told).

The complaints I hear are what you would expect, and that is ease of use. How well it spreads and how well it sands down. Personally I'm not thrilled with how it goes on either but I find that it sands down ok. I wish it went on more like Mr Surface putty.

To each his own. Some people don't like Fords, others love them. :p

THX giuys for nice words. Personally I use Tamiya White putty and Revel one. However the best is the Gunze Sangyo liquid grey putty. Concening colours of a putty it doesn't matter if a primer is used.

Thanks Wojtek! I will try to go on with the MG barrels today. Also, I'll look to go down to the hobby shop hopefully tomorrow. Thanks Dan, Wojtek and Dirk for the info! Appreciate it :D

Welcome back Harrison.
Thanks for the tips. The only putty I have been able to find is testors. Should I order one of the other brands? What is the best way to handle to pin holes on the flaps? Filling is easy but trying to sand it will will destroy the details?

You could try mixing the squadron white putty with a little acohol first - as much as 50/50 depending on the consistentcy you want. It's a little easier to work with and doesn't dry out quite so fast.

Good to see you're back at it H.
I know you don't need this yet, but here's the camouflage pattern pics I promised. OK, it's a Kittyhawk, but the colours and pattern are the same. Unfortunately, the profile was printed with the port wing not showing! So, I've included a B&W drawing showing the 'A' and 'B' patterns used. The colour profile is in scheme 'B', and I'm sure that between these and the kit painting diagrams, you should be able to get the right pattwern.

I know the hardware store isn't the place, nor do I think this is the right stuff. But it was 25 cents, the store was going out of business, if Its the stuff I can use, great. If not, my dad can use it.

Terry thanks a lot I'll save it to my PC if you don't mind!
