Wow! What a day! I went up as part of an 8-ship formation for flyovers for the traveling Vietnam Wall. The C-47 was the lead with 2 Nanchang CJs on the right wing, a CJ and a Yak on the left wing and the 3 T-34s behind as the stinger in a vic formation. Here are some samples from the day.

Great shots Eric, I was hoping to get some pictures next week-end at the Redlands Air Show, but they canceled it due to lack of finances I will be at the Palm Springs car show at the Palm Springs Air Museum on the 22nd.

I'm trying an experiment today and should have a better idea on how it works tomorrow, but have you ever though have a photo printed on a piece of wood? I got this crafty idea from one of the sites i found on StumbleUpon. Take a piece of wood, paint it with Gel Medium (available in most craft type stores). The take a photo printed on regular paper, mirror image and stick it down on the wood with the gel medium. Let it dry overnight and then wet down the paper and work it off. Then coat with Mod Podge and voila! I have seen other people's finished product and it looks great. I have the photo on the Gel Medium drying overnight and will get the paper off tomorrow. Here is a video of how it works.

I am doing a color print for this one to see how it will look. If it turns out well, it's a gift for grandpa and grandma, If it isn't so good, it's either be on my desk at work, or firewood. My wife was shocked that the first one wasn't an airplane photo.

Well, it wasn't quite as good as I was hoping. Actually it kinda sucked, but I used an ink-jet printer and a color photo. I ended up taking some of the ink off when taking off the paper, and didn't get all the paper off. I will try it again with a laser printer and I have a couple other things to try too. I can always sand it down to try again, or try another block of wood to see if I will be any good at this.
