Crickey mate, that looks a real beaut of a build. I dont have the 'eyes' or the patience for a build like that, top marks. she's looking good so far

Here's a few bits and pieces as promised. If you need anything specific, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
PICS 1 and 2. Radio ops position in the BBMF Lanc and the East Kirby Lanc, with wartime Wireless Op Ernie Evison (since deceased)at his 'old post'.
PIC 3. Nav sation in the BBMF Lanc, with modern Tacan unit.
PIC 4. Flight Engineer's position in the East Kirby Lanc, with former F/E Norman Jones.
PIC 5. Bomb aimers compartment, BBMF Lanc.
PIC 6. Looking over the tail plane into the rear turret (Rose turret, 2x .50 cals, late war fitting) East Kirby Lanc.
PICS 7 to 9. Lancaster rear turret.
PICS 10 to 13. Lancaster mid-upper turret and cam track.
PIC 14. Lancaster front turret.
PIC 15. Instrument panel. (Note that operational Lancs did not have dual controls. The 'wire' in the bottom of the pic is for the control locks.)
PICS 16 and 17. Some useful Avro drawings.
PIC 18. Bomb bay.(Note that the FN ventral turret at the rear was short-lived, and deleted after first production batch.
Note that after the first production batch, the forward section from the spar to bomb aimers compartment was painted matt black, to reduce glare and minimise detection (due to light coloured paint previously) by night fighters.
Hope these help.

The cam ring with operating levers!!! Nobody has been able to answer that question for me on US/British bombers and now I have seen the light I knew their had to be such a thing for young men in the heat of battle not shooting themselves down.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a similar technical solution for bomber and allied ship formations to completely prevent similar blue on blue accidents. What goes up, must come down, I suppose. :dontknow:

Looks awesome Boats! :thumbright:
Will have to fight hard, again, so that I won't get tempted to start my own Tamiya 1/48 Lancaster!
Looking forward to the rest of the build!

Ahoy
thanks fellas for your replies, the old Lanc is coming along very well. as to the update I have started the skins starting from skin number 1 and its former there are two skins for skin number on the intereir skin and the outer skin. The inter skin was formed and glued down after the outer skin was formed and glued. Ther controll boxs are i9nstalled as well when dry I went a head with skin number two and the to outer skins 3P and 3L they had notched but strips that are secures to skin number 2 and they are glued together with skins 3 and 2 together. I am, letting this unot dry for 8 hours when i resume I will have to burnish out the seams before I started the buil;d I sprayed the intire kit with Krylon clear to make the paper more plyable and protects the printing. Later i will shoot on 3 to 4 coats of areo gloss clear nitrate dope. Here is the skin assembly more this evening.

Never having realized that "paper" models existed until about 5 years ago, I am totally mesmerized. Never would have thought such detail could come from a card model. Amazing.

It really is spectacular, isn't it?! I was wondering about that frame too - perhaps it's for strength, but a shame it's so large, blocking part of the compartment.
