Love the wealth of information here!

I am working on combining 2 loves which my son has also picked up with a passion. I have begun research on a WW2 German rail yard. This will be n scale, a bit small but with everything I plan on including I could not take up the whole house.

The early plan is to model a working rail yard, late 1944. I would also included an active bombing run with fighter escort, and German resistance. Haven't been able to find much modeling the train part of this. This is going to be quite the process since I want everything to be as accurate as possible.

My back ground with trains is basically HO scale, and I have done numerous 1/48 1/72 WW2 Aircraft.

Hoot!

Hi and welcome to the site.

'N' gauge eh ?...thats gonna be small, but would love to see some pics during the build.

Hey, Pdougc!

Welcome from an HO scale model railroader! And from 1988 through 1994, I worked on a 12" to 1' scale railroad that did scenic trains, dinner trains, and freight trains. I got to operate GP-7s, FP-7A, and an E-8A. That is my other love of "heavy metal music" besides the sounds of the old war birds!

I belong to an model railroad club. A model railroad club can be an excellent source of information on how to construct your layout. Have you explored that angle?

I even added a bit of aviation to my railroad club. I built the Walther's HO scale DC-3 for North Central Airlines. It is hung from the ceiling of our layout room. It helps set the era of 1960.

Anyways, welcome again and have fun with both hobbies!

Bill G.
