They celebrated 100 years of Naval Aviation and had a few PBY type aircraft along with a totally hand-made 1911 Curtiss Flyer that actually flew!!

One of the cooler static displays was this Japanese fighter/bomber. Sorry, I'm not up on my IJN aircraft. Anybody?

One of the warbirds that did make it was this P_47 which will probably be at Reading this weekend.

The other warbird being this Corsair which Toughombre got some good pics of last year at Reading.

This was a "Wings an Wheels" show with a car show on site. I really didn't go roaming among the land crates but took these few pics....

The airshow portion started off with a parachute demostration by the US Army Golden Knights...

Then the T-6s and others did some flypasts....

One of the main features of this airfield is the musuem. My father and I volunteered here in the early 2000s and helped get some of the models that were donated ready for display. As you can see, this musuem is packed! Its a fantastic place and I think the best way to see things. The USA&SM in DC is nice but can you get this close to a PW 2800 like this? The models are displayed in great cases and this is where several vets sign autographs and you can talk with them. Great place!!

So its getting near the end, we start to pack up and I look across the tarmac to see.......a P-51! Don't know where it came from but wish I knew before.

Great pics Chris. That Japanese rig is a replica of a D3A Val, a modified BT-13 I believe.

Looks like it was a great time Chris. We have the Air Water show here in Chicago, but nothing close up like that. It's been Quite a while since I've been to that type of air show.
