After I looked photos of these last few steps Its hard to see a difference but surprisingly I do. Its unusual because usually the camera catches everything.
here we go, It's time to assemble the radiator intake. The way Academy has it set up the radiator intake sits in a recess.
What this does is cause the radiator intake to sit what I think is too flush on the fuselage.
What I need to do is raise the front of the radiator a bit. Using my ever faithful Evergreen I set to work,
Using a post-it note and a pencil I made a template
With the paper template made I was able to copy it to the Evergreen. As close to perfect as I could have hoped
Now this is how the radiator sits. From this angle it doesn't look much different
But from this angle it looks much much better.
Now its off for some priming. Till next time thanks for looking
Nice work there Dirk. I've got some detail shots O took at Duxford of their MkIIB if they're of use?
It's in BoB colours, but obviously the 'bits' are the same - radiator, main gear legs, wheels etc, guns etc.
Looks like the only Russian markings I have are 1/48. Sorry. Might break out a few kits and see how many decals are there. I have a Yak 1/72 and will check.
