Thanks Vic, but I believe both of those profiles are G-2's, as the wingtips suggest it....

Jan, if indeed the codes are right, we have his profile from Vic up above.... Now I just gotta figure out how to get/make decals for it.... I dont have the ability to make my own....

Dammit I hate this limiting constraints........

Great work tho guys!!!!!!!!! Jan, I couldnt find the pic of Fw Josef Blümel in that thread u linked up....

Didn't notice that until you mentioned it Brother....  Hopefully that's the crate, can't really read the Wk. Nr, but it looks like 494231, will look cool with the white spinner and red stripe! 8)

Josef Blümel...

Well I know they sell decal making sheets. Don't know what they are called but basically you just draw and cut. Wojtek told me that they make them but haven't been able to find any.

Dan, I only have a dot printer and do have white decal sheets and would be more than happy to have a go at making up the required decal for you. If your going with 494231, in reality you only need the 2 (though doing all would be better) to complete the number and then its just a matter if making the small S7 and larger EN. From my decals, I note that the white seems to be an off white. If it's a go, just give me the dimentions you need for the 1:32 and we can have a go.

The lettering should be one of the standard RLM sizes, so should be available as decals in various colours, not neccessarily specifically for the JU87, or even in 1/32nd scale. For example, 1/48th scale, or even 1/72nd scale 'bomber size' letters might fit the bill.

Well heres the profile we're lookin at:

Ill have to look around and see if I have any of these decals in my stash.... Most likely not, but worth a look...

I am however gonna need the white tank decal for the cowling....

Interesting note on this profile, wtf is that over sprayed black diagonal line just aft of the cockpit???

Also, and someone correct me please, but it seems that the entire plane is one color, not camoflauged.... This cant be right can it???

Dan, the on formation I have is that 10(Pz)./SG3 was formed in March 1944 through the redesignation of 4./StG2, and was based at Jakobstadt, Latvia as part of the Luftflotte I between April and July 1944. The unit helped cover the retreat westward, becoming incorporated in I/SG 9 as 2.taffel on 7 January 1945.

The tank emblem designates 'Kommando'. Also I've looked through most of my limited selection of references and note that more often than not, Stuka's were mostly green, without camouflage. The book has the above and front profiles over a double page if you want them. The book in question is Warplanes of the Luftwaffe by David Donald published by Grange Books.

:hotsun: :hotsun:

Luftwaffe Colours by Ullmann states for the Ju-87 D 1942 scheme 70/71/65 splinter but "as the war progressed, later production aircraft apparently used just a single colour, probably 71." Can't help you on the marking behind the cockpit though.

My guess would be where the whole rear fusalage would have been replaced and thats a join line? or maybe rear fusalage stengthening ? like Typhoon's have

Vic, Im so glad u found this profile and we could attach it to a certain pilot...

Thanks again, and yes, I want whatever u can supply me on this crate and any other 87G's from that book.....

Thing I dont get about the splinter camo is that crates up till the end of the War had it on there... Maybe the wrknummer would give a clue as to when it was manufatured, therefore the possibility of it being sprayed one color from the factory and it stayed that way....

My opinion on that stripe Daniel would be that there was a diagonal painted stripe there for some reason and it was painted over.... There isnt a joint seam there...

We'd also need to know when they stopped applying the splinter. As far as splinters on crates up to the end of the war, many are probably survivors from earlier production runs.
