I intended only to do the Spitfire after my other entry, however, having experimenting with varying methods of stripping the original paint I was kind of sucked in and this is the result so far.
The pieces of the kit prior to stripping the paint
After stripping and painting. Thanks to the help of Wojetk, a soak in brake fluid took a good part of the paint off, but where gloss was used I had to revert to scraping and as the kit has raised panel lines, some re-scribing was required.
Port and stbd cockpit walls from the box. Not much detail.
After a little work.
The final finish.
The instrument panel after having had to scraped away the white paint blobs and subsequently all the detail.
The almost finishes instrument panel after raiding the bits box and scratch building.
No cockpit flooring of any sort is provided, so I made one.
The port and stbd wheel wells were a bit rough as well, so again we improved them. My information indicated that the port and stbd had different strengthening. I also hunted for a grill for the under wing radiator inlet (I think that's what it is) which is a little course but later this evening I found something finer, so will replace it.
Next up, I hope to get it all closed up and painted.
